The Foundation for Marshall Medical Centers is proud to present the Second Annual Pink Pumpkin Run. The race is Saturday, October 29, 2011 starting and ending at the Guntersville Civitan Park. You don't have to run, just participate for a good cause! Also, be sure to join us for the Pumpkin Patch Bash the evening of the race for food, dancing, costumes and fun!

Why We Run

The proceeds from the Pink Pumpkin events will be donated to patient service programs at Marshall Medical Centers. The main beneficiary of the Pink Pumpkin proceeds will be the Mammography Assistance Program (MAP) at Marshall Medical Center North and South. Through the funds provided from MAP, women who cannot afford a yearly mammogram are offered assistance. Often the concern over the loss of income because of the time away from work or the lack of transportation or gas money prevent women from having this potentially life-saving test performed on an annual basis. Through MAP we have the ability to overcome these obstacles for many women. We also run in honor and memory of loved ones who have fought the battle with cancer.

5K Course Map

New this year, the 5K course is USATF certified! The 5K walk/run will begin at Guntersville's Civitan Park, travel northeast along Sunset Drive/LB Wallace Drive and return to the Civitan Park by way of newly renovated downtown Guntersville. The course is mostly flat with a couple of slight inclines and runs adjacent to beautiful Lake Guntersville. Aid stations will be located at the halfway point.

  Pink Pumpkin Run

  The Pink Pumpkin Run will feature music, a Survivors' Walk, the Pink Pancake Brunch, awards and children's activities. The Pink Pumpkin Run is a festive event for the entire family!

Wear your costume (although not required) and have some fun while you enjoy live music, Halloween treats and a cash bar. Tickets are just $35 and can be purchased by calling 256.571.8026. All proceeds benefit Breast Cancer Awareness Programs at MMC.
