Thanks to community, physicians and employees, we weathered the storm!
GUNTERSVILLE, ALABAMA – May 6, 2011 – In the wake of last week’s devastating storms, Marshall Medical Centers would like to express its deepest gratitude to the community, physicians and hospital employees who stepped up – not only during the disastrous weather - but throughout the loss of power and with all the gas, money, water, sewage and food problems subsequently created. Without the assistance of entities such as the Marshall County EMA, Alabama Army National Guard, Alabama State Department of Revenue, Alabama State Troopers and local police departments, we could have endured greater obstacles in providing for our patients and the community.
We would also like to thank our amazing hospital staff for again proving themselves to be an enormously dedicated, caring and professional group of people. Despite personal concerns, they immediately focused on the task at hand - with many expressing a willingness to work wherever (and whenever) they might be needed! Their concern and compassion for their patients - and for fellow co-workers who have suffered great loss - is evident, and the Medical Centers would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of them.
