Emergency care that’s really on the double.
Both Marshall Medical Centers North and South feature certified Trauma III Emergency Departments staffed with board certified physicians and highly skilled nurses.
Staff physicians and emergency room doctors maintain a close working relationship that benefits patients at all levels of treatment. With fast track systems in place at both hospitals, patients are quickly evaluated and treated. Both of our Emergency Departments are physician-staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Utilizing the most modern equipment and medical procedures, we treat almost 70,000 emergency patients each year.
Emergency Entrance Locations
MMC North
Emergency entrance is located on the west side of the Medical Center (the side facing Arab)
MMC South
Emergency entrance is located on the south end of the hospital (the side closest to Boaz)
Ambulance Service
We also offer Emergency Medical Services (ambulance service) to the citizens of Marshall County and the surrounding area, with the largest hospital-based ambulance service in the state of Alabama. Our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provides advanced life support 24-7. We provide nine advanced life support vehicle units, responding to approximately 12,000 calls per year throughout Marshall County and the surrounding area.
Comprised of skilled Paramedics and EMTs, our EMS staff maintains a high level of patient care by being updated continually on new education and equipment advances. Our staff also maintains State of Alabama EMS and National Registry of EMT standards, along with hazardous materials and weapons of mass destruction training.
