Director Behavioral Health Unit - Responsible for the administrative and clinical management of the Behavioral Health unit, a ten-bed, inpatient psychiatric facility within the general hospital. Responsibilities include management of a staff of social workers, psychiatric nurses and psychiatric technicians including scheduling, education, and payroll functions, as well as management of the department budget, and responsibility for the clinical quality and content of the program offered to inpatients and their families. The coordinator ensures smooth daily, efficient operations for the practice(s) through timely problem solving, team building, appropriate oversight and staff management. Establishes a collaborative relationship with physicians, employees, and other organizational staff in order to foster a positive team environment. High School Graduate or equivalent preferred. Ability to work well with the public is required. Open and effective communication skills essential. Can manage others as well as multitask. Previous experience within other medical offices preferred.

Psychiatric Technician - Provides care to mentally ill, emotionally disturbed, or mentally retarded patients in behavioral health unit and participates in rehabilitation and treatment programs. Helps patients with their personal hygiene, such as bathing and keeping beds, clothing, and living areas clean. Takes and records measures of patient's general physical condition, such as pulse, temperature, and respiration, to provide daily information. Observes patients to detect behavior patterns and reports observations to medical staff. Intervenes to restrain violent or potentially violent or suicidal patients by verbal or physical means as required.
