Montgomery will be the first destination of the year for GoldCare 55+ travelers. On Feb. 24, we’ll take a motorcoach to Montgomery where a guide/historian will lead a driving tour of the city, pointing out historical sites such as the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church where the Rev. Martin Luther King preached. We will tour the Rosa Parks Museum, the nationally-acclaimed Legacy Museum and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice. In Old Alabama Town we’ll walk through authentic 19th and early 20th century homes as well as buildings saved from demolition then carefully restored. Enjoy a lunch of soul food at the Davis Café, a favorite spot of state employees.
Cost of $99 includes transportation, lunch, museum admissions, step-on guide and gratuities. Full payment due at registration on or before January 27.
Springtime will find GoldCare travelers in Mobile March 26-29 for a ride along the Azalea Trail, touring homes and churches, visiting Bellingrath Gardens, dining aboard the USS Alabama and touring Battleship Memorial Park. At Dauphin Island Sea Lab we’ll see the Estuarium, with its 10,000 square foot Exhibit Hall, a 7,000-gallon stingray touch pool and the Living Marsh Boardwalk. Also see Fort Gaines, one of the key sites in the famous Battle of Mobile Bay where you will find original cannons, a blacksmith shop, kitchens, tunnels and a museum.
Our final evening in Mobile features a Mardi Gras themed dinner, Mobile style. Afterward, enjoy dinner theater and try to solve a murder.
The ride home includes outlet shopping in Foley and lunch at Lambert’s, home of the throwed rolls.

April 7 is a one-day Mystery Trip. Everyone loves a surprise! Hop aboard a motorcoach along with a fun group and take off to destinations unknown. Guaranteed to be a good time and we'll have you home before bedtime. Full payment is due at registration on or before March 10. Cost: $99
One of the highlights of next year’s travels is a 5-day visit to San Antonio on May 24-28. Hotel stay is on the beautiful River Walk, the centerpiece of this city’s Spanish architecture. Local guide will make sights come alive, including the Alamo of the Texas Revolution, Mission San Jose and floating tour of the River Walk. Visit the Texas White House – the LBJ Ranch, birthplace of President Lyndon B. Johnson. See the National Museum of the Pacific War and San Antonio Botanical Gardens. Shop at the Mexican Marketplace.
